The weather has been so beautiful lately...nice sunshine and a wonderful breeze. Maddy and I went to Blue Hills and I just had to get a pic of us in front of these colorful kangaroo paws. :)
I just love the brightness of these beauties.
Here is a little transplant. Seeds must have blown over to this area.
Earlier this month, Maddy decided to trim up this geranium. She built this cute wooden box for it to grow in and it was pulling it over because it was so full.
Here she is at work. :D
Here is the after version. She added two steel rods so that the wooden box won't be pulled over again.
Nasturtiums are so joyful.
I usually don't see the caterpillars until Maddy points them out but I found this guy all by myself!
I'm always asking Maddy to leave this section alone. I love all the color and growth! Of course, if she listened to me ALL the time, it wouldn't be properly cared for. LOL
The sign says it all!
Front planter beds in all their glory.
A girl in her garden... <3
Front planter beds all trimmed up.
The sun was a bit bright so the colors might be a little washed out. I love these yellow and purple daisies and the purple balls next to them. I don't know the name of those! haha
This close up shows just how pretty they are!
Can you tell it was windy? The grasses are blowing. :)
Of course, I love the Mexican Sage...it's PURPLE! :D
Don't get fooled by all the big stuff, there's hidden beauty as well.
Sea Lavender...more purple!
Maddy says this is the same thing before it's opened up. Hmmm...
Another bright spot I love...a firecracker plant.
Close up of the cool flowers.
This still amazes me! If you rub the leaves, you smell buttered popcorn. I guess that's why it's called Popcorn Cassia. It it the plant for the cloudless sulphur butterflies to lay their eggs. I so enjoy watching the Cloudless Sulphurs flutter around.
Caught one of them in the backyard...can you spot it?
Here it is in flight...it's a little blurry.
Pretty little Nasturtium...
One of my favorite little succulents and a lone Dianthus.
Tags from the new plants Maddy bought at Blue Hills...
Here are the pics of the newbies...
These next 2 were on clearance for $2.00...Maddy will revive them! I picked the second one because I thought it looked cool...all speckly!
I was out taking pics and just had to get a video of my windchimes. I bought a year or so ago at Hobby Lobby. I had been looking for some awesome sounding ones and I found em...half price!! Gotta love Hobby Lobby. :D
Moving into the backyard...Maddy replanted this plumeria and added some smaller plants at the base.
I used to love this grouping but, I guess, the boss says it's time to move stuff around. You can see where some pots were by the dark circles on the ground. haha Don't ask me why the traffic cones are there!
LOVE this bright fire looking parrot's beak!
SO.MANY.PLANTS!!!
The work space!
We got this pot from my brother before he moved. Maddy cleaned it and dry brushed it with some turquoise paint for a worn look. She filled it with succulents...of course. :D
Ok...this cracked me up!! Monarch chrysallis in a strategic spot. LOL
Maddy trimmed up tons of rosemary and when it dried, she made this wreath. Mmmm!
AND...here's the reason I stopped gardening...ANTS!!! When Maddy tried moving this pot, the ants came out in force. YUCK! Talk about heebie geebies.....
Well, this is just some of the pics I've been taking over the last month or two. Whenever I have time to wander around the yard, there's always something interesting to catch my attention. Thanks, Madison, for all your hard work. Gardening is a work of heART!
